When Marshall Brown, from Save the Great South Bay, spoke at our March meeting, the message of how important the inland creeks are to the health of the Great South Bay resonated with everyone. Our group realized that our little hamlet contained a number of the 41 inland creeks that feed directly into the bay and with that being the case; we saw an opportunity for collaboration. We are happy to announce that we are the latest in a line of creek defender groups organized through Save the Great South Bay. You can read more about the program here and don’t be afraid to hit that little donate button in the top right hand corner. This group does great work and they are a 501c3 organization, so any donations are tax deductible. So what is our first target? Purgatory Creek, which starts north of Montauk Hwy and winds its way all the way down to the bay, will be the first. Stay tuned for updates regarding the BPCC’s involvement with helping save the Great South Bay.
